Donations to UK Patient Groups

CSL Behring is a global leader in the plasma protein biotherapeutics industry. Passionate about improving the quality of patients’ lives, CSL Behring manufactures and markets a range of effective plasma-derived and recombinant products and related services. Our therapies are used in the treatment of rare diseases such as immune deficiency disorders, haemophilia, von Willebrand disease and other bleeding disorders. Other products are used for rapid warfarin reversal and the prevention of haemolytic disease of the newborn.

CSL Behring UK Ltd works closely with several UK patient groups to reinforce the support they offer patients and their families. The company has made donations to five key patient groups specifically during our financial year ending in June 2011:

• The Primary Immunodeficiency Association (PiA)

The PiA supports people living with Primary Immunodeficiencies. CSL Behring has donated to help fund HAE initiatives, to provide financial support for the production and distribution of the PiA newsletter and for involvement in the 2010 PiA annual meeting in Sheffield.

• The Haemophilia Society

The Haemophilia Society is the only national and independent organisation for all people affected by bleeding disorders. CSL Behring has donated to the Haemophilia Society to help fund von Willebrand disease initiatives

• HAE UK

HAE UK supports people living with Hereditary Angioedema. CSL Behring has donated to HAE UK to fund website development.

• Rare Disease UK

Rare Disease UK (RDUK) is the national alliance for people with rare diseases and all who support them. CSL Behring has donated to RDUK to fund newspaper advertising to raise awareness of Rare Diseases Day.

• ITP Support Association

The ITP Support Association is an independent UK registered charity which aims to promote and improve the general welfare of people with Immune Thrombocytopenia (formerly known as Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura) by providing support and information to patients, their families, and health professionals. CSL Behring has donated to the ITP Support Association to provide journal support.
